January 16, 2026 Auburn memo

The memo below was received Jan. 16 - Please read and get back to me (email or text) as soon as you can with the following highlighted information:

1. Are you planning to play 777 league golf this year? Yes" or "No".

2. If you are playing, will you be sponsoring (bringing) new players?

 "Happy New Year!

So far, 2026 is off to a really slow start for Auburn Golf Course.  The hundred-year flood that we had in mid-December has temporarily closed the course down. Two to three feet of river water flooded the clubhouse basement and caused extensive damage that we are in the process of repairing. Golf cart fleet replacement, electrical room, HVAC and remediation are all being dealt with. Thankfully the city has flood insurance, however each issue is requiring a lengthy process of getting bids, estimates, contracts, etc. before repairs can be made. We currently do not have a re-opening date for the course, but will keep you informed as we get closer to the finish line.

Despite all of our troubles, spring is just around the corner and Auburn Golf Course is looking forward to another great season!

Attached, you will find a league request form that we would like you to fill out and submit to us by January 31st. In addition, please read the league rules for the 2026 season.  We will do our best to accommodate each league request, and to assist you in implementing our rules and requirements. Thank you for taking the time to get back to us.

In February, we will confirm the dates and times for each league and include additional relevant information for all 2026 leagues. The 9-hole rate is going up $3 from last year which includes a $1.10 facility improvement fee that the city council approved last year. The golf course is still in excellent condition, and as always, our maintenance crew has been working hard to keep it that way. We are hopeful that the course will open for play sometime in February but will let you know as soon as we get any information on potential re-opening dates. Please let us know if you have any questions or need any other information.

 Thank you"
